Want to impress your guess with an elegant dessert? This Strawberry Meringues can be pre-make and assemble before serve. It’s a light dessert with a very fantastic presentation and taste.
Yields: 6 serving
Ingredients:
For the meringue:
3 Egg Whites
¼ tsp Cream of Tartar
6 oz Granulated Sugar
For Strawberries Sauce
16 oz Strawberries, Sliced
1 oz Sugar
1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
For Whipped Cream:
4 oz Whipped Cream
1 tbsp icing sugar
1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
Preparations:
1. Preheat oven to 300 degree F.
2. In a large dry bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar with an electronic mixer on medium speed until the mixture form soft peaks.
3. Add granulated sugar, 1 tbsp at a time, beat until glossy and stiff peaks form.
4. Mould into 6 round shapes 3 inch wide, make an indentation in the centre, and 6 smaller peak meringues round 2 inch wide.
5. Reduced the oven temperature to 275 degree F, baked for 1 hour. Turn off the oven and leave the meringue in the oven for 1 hour longer. Remove from oven.
6. Meanwhile, prepare strawberries sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine strawberries, sugar and vanilla extract.
7. Cook, stirred occasionally, until sauce thicken. About 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Let cools.
8. In a medium bowl, whip the cream until soft peaks form. Add icing sugar and vanilla, mixed well.
9. Fill the large meringue with cream, then a layer of strawberry sauce. Top with the small meringue.
