Royal Icing


This is a basic royal icing recipe. The consistency of the royal icing can be adjusted by adding water. But keep in mind, you can always add but cannot take away. Once you get the right consistency, food coloring can be added to get your desired color.

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cup Icing Sugar

  • 1 ½ tbsp Meringue Powder

  • 3 tbsp Water

  • 1 tsp Almond Extract

Preparations:

1. In a large mixing bowl, add icing sugar and meringue powder. Using your mixer’s paddle attachment, mix the dry ingredients in low speed until incorporate.

2. Slowly add water to dry ingredients while mixing. Add almond extract.

3. Continue to mix with low speed until fluffy and stiff peaks form.
