Japanese Pork Belly (Kakuni) with Pressure Cooker



Melt in your mouth Pork Belly ready less than an hour. Fast, simple and delicious with the help of my favorite Instant Pot.

 

Ingredients:


  • 3 Green Onions

  • 1 Knob Ginger

  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil

  • 2 lb Pork Belly

Seasonings:

  • 1/2 cup Water

  • 1/2 cup Mirin

  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce

  • 1/4 cup Sake

  • 1/4 cup Sugar

Preparations:

1. Pat dry the pork belly and remove the rind.


2. Cuts into 5 cm * 2 cm pieces.



3. Slice and ginger and cut the green onions.



4. Press the Saute button on the Instant Pot. Add oil.



5. Add the pork belly. Saute the pork belly will pressure the texture and flavor.



6. Add water just enough to cover the pork belly. Then add green onion and ginger.



7. Cover and lock the lid. Pressure cook with the Meat setting for 35 minutes. When cooking is done, release the steam.


8. Remove the pork belly carefully. Rinse with cold water. Discard the cooking water, green onion and ginger. Put the pork belly back into the Instant Pot.




9. Prepare the seasoning. Combine Water, Mirin, Soy Sauce, Sake and Sugar in a mixing bowl. Mixed well.







10. Add seasoning into the Instant Pot.




11. Cover and lock the lid. Pressure cook with the Meat setting for 10 minutes. When cooking is done, release the steam. Carefully transfer the pork belly onto the serving plate and pour the sauce on top.
