These cookies are light and delicious. They are really easy to make and the decorating ideas are endless. They can be stored in an airtight container over a week and still taste fresh.
Ingredients:
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
¼ tsp Salt
2 tsp Baking Powder
¾ Cup Unsalted Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
2 tbsp Milk
½ tsp Vanilla Extract
Royal Icing
Preparations:
1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk in flour, salt, baking powder.
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter mixing until light and fluffy.
3. Add egg, milk and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
4. Add flour mixture and mix until just combined.
5. Shape dough into 2 discs. Wrap with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
6. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
7. Line baking pan with parchment paper.
8. On a lightly floured work surface, roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out cookies. Transfer cookies to baking pan. Leftover dough can be rolled and cut again. Decorated sugar can be put onto cookies before it's baked.
9. Baked for 10 minutes.
10. Transfer to cooling rack.
11. Cookies can be decorated with Royal Icing.
