Chinese Marinade Beef Shank (滷水牛展)


This is a classic Chinese appetizers/snacks. It is also a very popular party dish. It can be made in advance. Sometimes it’s served with marinade tofu and eggs as well.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Beef Shank

  • 5 clove Garlic

  • 4 slice Ginger

  • 25 g Rock Sugar

  • 3 pcs Dried Star Aniseed

  • 2 tsp Szechuan pepper

  • 2 tbsp Cooking Wine

  • 4 tbsp light soya sauce

  • 2 tbsp dark soya sauce

  • 2 Cups Water

Preparation:

1. In a medium pot, add water and bring to a boiled. Add beef shank, and let simmer for 5 minutes. Drain water from beef shank, set aside.

2. In a large saucepan, add all ingredients. Bring to a boil, lower heat to medium. Let simmer until beef is soften. About 1 hour.






3. Let the beef shank cool, and chill in the fridge. Cut into thin slice and served.
